mess

Terms

The terms, in plain language

What you are getting. mess is a macOS app, free while it is in early access. It needs an Apple silicon Mac (M1 or newer). It is not yet notarized by Apple, so macOS shows a warning on first launch; the download includes instructions for opening it.

Your files are yours. Everything mess makes lives on your own disk as plain files. Importing a photo copies it; your originals are never modified, and exports hand them back byte for byte. Uninstalling mess leaves your photos exactly where they were.

No warranty. mess is early software provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It works hard to never lose your work (saves are atomic, nothing is deleted silently), but you use it at your own risk, and photos worth keeping deserve a backup regardless of which apps you trust.

What you may not do. Don't resell mess, rebrand it, or redistribute it as your own. Sharing the download link with a friend is what the link is for.

Changes. mess is updated often and these terms may change with future versions. The current version always lives at this address.
